Travelling the Dutch way.

According to CBS.nl (central bureau of statistics) daily 2.275.000 people travel by public transport. To keep the travellers happy the system has to be reliable, but also has to give their customers a sense of temporary comfort. I found out that even though train, trams, busses and metro’s have a similar appearance on the outside (and for a large part on the inside as well), the appearance of the seats seem to not be very consistent. Which, when put side by side, makes a playground-like impression.

The show is now open, so if you’re in the Minneapolis area, you should definitely go check it out. You can find more information about the show here.

I will be printing more of these zines in the future and will let you know when they are for sale!

Yoshitoshi Kanemaki born 1972 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan is a sculptor who chisels and morphs dual characters from blocks of life-sized camphor wood.

My sculpture questions “What is life?” “What is death?”
I know there is no clear answer, but again today I carve while asking, “Memento mori?”
I used Japanese wood carving techniques to express the western theme of “Memento mori”.
